BIOGRAPHY:

James is a seasoned business development, operations and manufacturing executive with over twelve years of experience gained in the investment banking, commodities and lifesciences sectors.

James is currently Chief Operating Officer for Global Frontier Group (GFG), a mining and technology conglomerate based in the UK and South Africa. Prior to GFG, James was Director and Global Business Development Manager for the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) and JP Morgan based in London, where he had strategic responsibility for business development and revenue generation.

James has gained exceptional experience and exposure working with start-ups, mining, technology, services and fintech company’s, several of which he held a founding role in. James regularly consults to AIP and our client’s across the commodities, AI/ML and lifesciences sectors.

James holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Economics from Rhodes University in South Africa as well as advanced qualifications in Mining Appraisal and Valuation from Imperial College London.

BIOGRAPHY:

Aidan is a skilled AI and machine learning research scientist with a broad variety of experience gained within industry and academia.

Aidan started his career working as an Electrical Engineer following completion of his undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronics engineering. Aidan then embarked on a Master’s degree in Engineering and Physical Sciences at Imperial College London. This was followed by a PhD in Statistics at Imperial College after which Aidan spent time as a Data Scientist at dunnhumby and as Post-Doctoral Researcher at MIT within the Intelligent Transport Systems group. Today, Aidan is a Lecturer in Statistics at UCL and Course Director of the MSc Energy Systems and Data Analytics course and is a Fellow of the Alan Turning Institute. Aidan is also the Chief Scientific Officer of a new AI and Machine Learning start-up in the oil and mining industry called ENRGeo.

Aidan is a graduate of University College Cork (BEng. Electrical and Electronics Engineering), and Imperial College London (PhD. and MSc. Statistics).

BIOGRAPHY:

Jon is a determined, committed and enthusiastic leader with a strong track record in scientific research, technical development and business management.

Jon has worked in both the healthcare and oil and gas domains. He started his career in the NHS as a Medical Physicist, climbing the ranks from Senior Physicist through to Principal Physicist. In 2001, Jon became the CEO of Foster Findlay Associates (ffA) which is a specialist Oil & Gas Geophysics company. During his 18 years as CEO, Jon built ffA’s international oil & gas software business, establishing offices in Aberdeen, Perth, Houston, Rio de Janeiro, Kuala Lumpur, Newcastle upon Tyne, and London. In 2019, Jon joined a new AI and Machine Learning start-up in the oil and mining industry called ENRGeo where he became Managing Director and Head of Software as a Service (SaaS).

Jon is a graduate of the University of Nottingham (BSc. Physics) and the University of Birmingham (MSc. Physics).

BIOGRAPHY:

Antony is an experienced entrepreneur with 10+year’s natural resources and broader commoditiesmarket experience.

Antony started his career working for Goldman Sachs, HSBC and Deutsche Bank in Credit Derivatives Operations/Analytics, Sales and Trading. Returning to the natural resources sector, Antony joined the BP and Royal Holloway structural geology team focused on researching fractured carbonates in the Middle East and Canada. In 2006, Antony embarked on an entrepreneurial career by co-founding the recruitment firm DRS-Commodities (and later DRS-Human Capital) where he managed international business development that included on-boarding a wide range of Major and Small-cap natural resources clients in addition to investment banks, trading companies and professional services firms. This saw DRS become a company with a $6m+ valuation. In 2013, Antony co-founded a bespoke investment group called Adamant Ventures with leading industry and finance executives focused on onshore oil & gas exploration and in 2015 founded AIP-Commoditiesas an outsourced investment and services platform. Today, Antony's main focus is on running the day to day operations of AIP in addition to leading business development, capital introduction, and helping to establish new commodities-focused businesses and investment vehicles.

Antony is a graduate of Imperial College London and University College London (UCL) with degrees in Petroleum Geology and Geophysics.

BIOGRAPHY:

Christian is a globally recognised and highly experienced oil & gas executive with 36 years of oil & gas exploration and development experience. Since 2013, Christian has worked with small cap E&P companies as an investor and Non-Executive Director focusing on onshore exploration, development and re-development opportunities.

Until 2013, Christian worked for Shell, based in eight countries on four continents, during which time he discovered more than 3 billion barrels of oil. From 2006 to 2013 Christian was Shell's Exploration Vice President and a senior member of Shell's global exploration leadership team. Earlier roles with Shell included Vice President Commercial for Global Exploration, General Manager Technical Services (Iran) and General Manager(Temir), where he managed an onshore oil venture in Kazakhstan.

Christian's main career focus has been on offshore and onshore oil & gas exploration and appraisal/development however he has also been very active in business development, commercial and technology matters. This has included pioneering the testing and deployment of new technologieswithin Shell, including 3D seismic.

Christian has a PhD. in Experimental Physics from the University of Vienna.

BIOGRAPHY:

Robert is a globally experienced natural resources executive with 20+ years CFO/Board-level experience working for and managing the finances of a range of international multinationals with revenues up to $90bn+.

Robert has extensive international experience having worked in Asia, Europe, Russia and North America during his career. Most recently Robert served as Group CFO of Noble Groupin Hong Kong, a $90bn turnover global commodity trader listed on the Singapore stock exchange. Previous experience includes having been CFO of BHP Billiton’s Aluminium division, Senior Vice President for Shell's Gas and Power Trading business, Senior Vice President of M&Afor Shell's Downstreambusiness and CFO for Unilever (Russia).

Robert has in-depth experience across all corporate finance, accounting, treasury, investor relations and MIS functions and has exceptional skills in capital project financing, strategic planning, business restructuring, and M&A.

Robert holds a first class Chemistry degree from Oxford University.

BIOGRAPHY:

Jorge is a proven oil & gas executive with over 35 years of E&P technical and commercial experience, with the last 12 years spent in various management roles in the Middle East.

Jorge has an exceptional technical pedigree and detailed experience of working in and negotiating in Kurdistan, Saudi Arabia and Iran amongst other countries. He is currently the CEO of Iranian oil & gas start-up, Cygnus Energy, and was until recently General Manager for Repsol in Kurdistan.

Jorge’s previous roles include COO for ENI RepSa, a major gas venture, in which he oversaw all operations in Saudi Arabia, and as Country Manager and General Manager for Repsol in Iran, based in Tehran.

Jorge has in-depth experience across the full E&P lifecycle and is an accomplished explorationist and business development professional.

Jorge holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geological Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA).

Colin Howard

Colin Howard is a Consultant Petroleum Economist with over 40 years of experience across the oil & gas industry, including with BG Group and Schlumberger.

Colin works with a wide variety of oil & gas sector companies, analysing business opportunities, undertaking decision and risk analysis and portfolio modelling. His specialties include upstream fiscal modelling using Schlumberger Merak software and Excel, developing excel based fiscal modelling software, and developing petroleum economics training courses for presentation to energy companies and academia.

Colin holds a BSc. in Geology from Imperial College London, an MSc in Structural Geology from the University of Pennsylvania and a further MSc. in Mineral Project Appraisal from Imperial College London.

Joel Corcoran

Joel Corcoran is an accomplished oil & gas explorationist and senior energy executive with over 20 years of industry experience.

Joel started his career with Paladin Energy before moving to Tullow Oil, where he became the company’s youngest Group Exploration Manager and member of the executive exploration team. Following Tullow, Joel joined Hansa Hydrocarbons(later acquired by One Dyas), where he was responsible for making the largest gas discovery in the Dutch North Sea over the past 25 years. Following the acquisition of Hansa, Joel co founded ENRGeo (Energy and Natural Resources Geoscience AI) which is a new AI and ML start up focused on oil & gas exploration and broader exploration geoscience across metals & mining, water and solar system exploration.

Joel is a graduate of Imperial College London and University College London in Petroleum Geology and Geophysics, where he holds first class degrees from both institutions.

Dr. Shah Islam

Dr. Shah Islam is a qualified Medical Doctor, graduating from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry with Distinction in 2010 having already achieved First Class Honours in his Intercalated BSc.

Since graduating, Shah entered combined clinical academic training, firstly on the academic foundation programme at Barts, followed by appointment as an NIHR academic clinical fellow in Radiology at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, gaining his FRCR in 2016.

Shah subsequently started his PhD in Computational Brain Imaging at Imperial College London with sub specialist neuroradiology training on the Pan London rotation. His research is focused on developing novel imaging biomarkers to detect early treatment response in Glioblastoma using advanced imaging techniques, achieved through a number of clinical trials and advanced computational methods involving AI/ML.

Shah is a member of the Tessa Jowel Brain MATRIX steering committee, which is 10 centre government led study aimed at improving outcomes in patients with aggressive brain tumours, in conjunction with the Brain Tumours Charity. His work in AI in medical imaging includes being part of the Academic Health Sciences Network Core Advisory group on AI in healthcare, where he has written white papers on the subject matter in collaboration with Frost Sullivan and Phillips, as well as delivering international Keynotes on the topic.

He is a long time collaborator with IBM UK’s systems group, developing the PowerAI platform for use in healthcare.

Lynda Wilson

Lynda Wilson is an experienced HR and Recruitment Executive with over 30 years of industry experience.

Most recently, Lynda has been a Senior Recruitment and HR Advisor with AIP and a Senior Headhunter with DRS Commodities. Lynda has also been a Learning and Development Specialist and Managing Director of Changing Careers.

For over 25 years Lynda worked for ExxonMobil as a Senior Recruitment and Training Advisor internationally, where she managed recruitment, training and delivery across graduate and experienced hires. Prior to ExxonMobil, Lynda worked for Shell UK in the NGL business as a Way Leave co o rdinator.
